On Tuesday February 21st, also known as Mardi Gras, all students are invited to dress for Carnaval in plaid shirts and jeans! ESS is continuing our tradition of celebrating the Carnaval du Québec. We will kick off this week by learning about the early days of the famous winter Carnaval and how the Métis culture plays a significant role in this celebration. Throughout the day we will dance, sing, craft and participate in schoolwide activities. everyone is invited to dress up like a coureur de bois (trapper) to pay homage to most of Quebec’s ancestry. (see picture attached). This year, there will be crèpes (2 pancakes) for lunch provided for all students and staff thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers.
